I am a transdisciplinary scholar of minorities, ‘national’ rhetoric in scholarship and public discourse, and epistemology of translation and historical hermeneutics. My research examines how favourable narratives of the past are repeated despite evidence to the contrary, explores twenty-first-century defences of nineteenth-century, revisionist histories of ‘medieval’ peoples, and interrogates conceptualisations of historic structures, such as the 'Normanisation' of medieval English people.
What does that mean?
I am a researcher at a university (usually changes every year). As the website says, I am in fact a doctor. I research medieval peoples and how current historians have depicted them.
